After a decade of development and 100% handcrafted in our central California factory. Dragons are the most versatile and unique wheels on the market. They smooth out rough surfaces like soft wheels, slide like hard wheels, and roll farther with each push. Dragons deliver the speed you need. Long, smooth rolls, reduced vibration, enhanced stability, and a longer lifespan than any hard wheel. Suitable for all skating styles and surfaces, they come in various hardnesses, sizes, and shapes, including symmetrical designs and our new asymmetrical Nano-Cubics and Nano-Rats. Proudly made in the USA, Dragons are a game-changing wheel for every type of skater.
The amazing new Dragon Formula™ (DF) Urethane used to create these wheels is another industry leading innovation from Powell Peralta.
Grip & Slide: Dragons slide on both rough and smooth terrain, when you need it. This is because Dragon Formula is not a normal urethane formulated to be a mid-90’s wheel, it is a unique formulation developed by our R&D group over a 10 year period to optimize and fine tune it to perfection. That’s why no other wheel can perform like Dragon’s can. Its slide ability and grip to slide ratio come from a unique blend of high performance materials, not from using weaker urethane with less grip and durability to get the wheel to slide.
Durability: Dragon Formula wheels are not only smooth, fast, and slidable, they are also among the longest lasting wheels available. This makes them a super value at the same time, so don’t think you are saving money by buying a low cost, low performance wheel. Choose Dragon Formula wheels, and have more fun skating longer.
Dragon Formula has taken us a decade of development to perfect. This formula has amazing speed, a smooth ride, unequalled grip-to-slide ratio, vibration damping, and extra-long life. Dragon Formula is groundbreaking, makes skating more fun, and broadens the skate terrain available to Dragon riders.
To expand the fun and performance of this revolutionary new formula, we offer Dragons in both traditional symmetrical shapes and two new asymmetrical shapes, Nano-Cubics™ and Nano-Rats™.
THE 88A DRAGON FORMULA:
Our new Dragon 88’s are the softest, smoothest, and fastest members of the Dragon Formula family, offering an unequalled ability to grip and slide. DF-88’s help you glide over rough city streets on your way to a skate spot, gripping when you need it, and sliding with the ease of wheels 10 points harder!
With over 82% rebound, DF-88’s perform like wheels 10 points softer, making them the fastest 88A wheel available. This combination of speed, smoothness, grip and slide cushions rough terrain, allowing you to roll farther with each push, as if you were skating on smoother pavement.
As the third member of the revolutionary Dragon Formula™ family, DF-88 joins the 93A and 97A options. Dragons let you fine-tune your ride for any terrain while still maintaining the ability to slide, eliminating the need to switch between soft and hard wheels when skating your favorite spots. They make skating more fun, easier on your body, and are sure to become your go-to wheels for all-around skating.
THE 93A DRAGON FORMULA:
DF-93A Dragons will not only roll over rough terrain, but also grip and slide like 99A and 101A wheels do, so that you can do all your normal tricks and more on the greater range of skate terrains made skateable by its softer 93A hardness.
Speed: Dragons are very fast because DF-93A is super high rebound, an industry leading 18-20% higher than hard wheels. This higher rebound means you won’t lose speed in bowls or parks the way you would with an ordinary 93A wheel, and you will roll much smoother and faster on rough streets and sidewalks…even in places you used to have to walk your board.
THE 97A DRAGON FORMULA:
Dragons are mid hardness 93A and 97A wheels that smooth out rough terrain. Now you can roll over previously unskateable terrain on your way to a skate spot, and then skate it as well or better than before with the same wheels. This is because dragons slide like 99A & 101A wheels and still grip when needed, making dragons special and unique.
SYMMERTRICAL DRAGONS
Powell Peralta Dragon Formula wheels with a symmetrical shape are engineered with balance and performance in mind. This shape is characterized by an even, identical profile on both sides of the wheel, making it ideal for skaters who prioritize versatility and consistency.
Key Features:
1. Balanced Profile:The symmetrical design ensures equal weight distribution across the wheel, enhancing control and stability whether you’re skating regular or switch. This shape is perfect for technical tricks, flip tricks, or transitions.
2. Squared Edges:The edges are typically squared off, providing a solid contact patch for maximum grip while still allowing for smooth slide initiation when needed. This makes the wheels suitable for both street and park skating.
3. Consistent Wear:Since the shape is identical on both sides, you can rotate the wheels regularly, promoting even wear and prolonging their lifespan.
4. Modern Aesthetic:The symmetrical design offers a clean and sleek look, appealing to skaters who prefer a refined, professional appearance.
Ideal For:
• Technical Skaters: Those who frequently switch between regular and switch stance will appreciate the consistent performance.
• Park and Bowl Riders: The shape works well for maintaining speed and control on transitions.
• Street Skaters: The grip and durability make them great for street skating, especially when combined with the resilience of the Dragon Formula.
The symmetrical shape Powell Peralta Dragon Formula wheels are a top choice for skaters seeking precision, durability, and all-around performance.
ASYMMERTRICAL DRAGONS
Powell Peralta Dragon Formula wheels with an asymmetrical shape are purpose-built for skaters who want specialized performance and control. The asymmetrical design features a distinct difference between the inner and outer sides of the wheel, offering unique advantages depending on how the wheels are oriented on your setup.
Key Features:
1. Functional Design:The asymmetrical shape typically includes a more squared, wider inner edge for added stability and grip, while the outer edge is rounded or tapered for smoother transitions and easier slide initiation. This combination provides tailored performance for various skating styles.
2. Enhanced Grip and Slide Control: The wider, flat inner edge increases the contact patch, improving grip and control, which is ideal for carving, speed, and transition skating. The rounded outer edge makes powerslides, reverts, and technical maneuvers more predictable and fluid.
3. Versatile Orientation: Skaters can flip the wheels to prioritise either grip (wider edge on the inside) or slide (rounded edge on the inside), offering flexibility to adapt to different skating conditions or personal preferences.
4. Specialized Performance:This shape shines in situations where control and precision are key, such as high-speed runs, tight turns, or technical street skating. The design provides confidence when locking into tricks or navigating uneven terrain.
Ideal For:
• Transition and Bowl Skaters: The grip from the inner edge and smoothness of the outer edge make these wheels perfect for carving and maintaining speed.
• Downhill or Speed Skaters: The increased stability and control offered by the wider edge are ideal for skating at high speeds.
• Street Skaters: The rounded edge makes technical tricks, reverts, and slides more predictable while still offering durability for rough terrain.
